HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-130-08/16/1994-COLORADO DEPT TRANSPORTATION IGA MASTER TRAFFIC COMPUTER STM M455-018 VMS UPGRADE STP FUNDS TRAFFIC RESOLUTION 94-130 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE UPGRADING OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLERS AND THE CITY'S MASTER TRAFFIC CONTROL COMPUTER WHEREAS, the City has presented to the Colorado Department of Transportation ("COOT") a project to replace 20 traffic signal controllers that had been in service two to five years beyond their normal life expectancy and to upgrade the City's Master Traffic Control Computer (the VMS 330 System) from its current capability of controlling 128 intersections to a capability of controlling 160 intersections; and WHEREAS, the COOT has made available to the City Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds in the amount of $69,000 in support of the foregoing project, upon condition that the City provide matching funds in the amount of $1,000; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that completion of the project is in the best interest of the City and that an intergovernmental agreement with the COOT for the completion of the project should be executed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the CDOT in support of the above-described project, identified as STM M455-018, Fort Collins Traffic Signals - VMS Upgrade, which project will utilize Sixty-nine Thousand Dollars ($69,000) of Federal Surface Transportation Program Funds and One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) of City local matching funds. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 16th day of August, A.D. 1994. TTEST: City Clerk
