OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUPPORTING THE ROSE TREE VILLAGE APARTMENTS
AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT
WHEREAS, on May 18, 1993, the City Council formally adopted the FY 1993-94
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and
WHEREAS, one of the projects funded pursuant to the CDBG was the Neighbor-
to-Neighbor, Inc./Shields Street Corporation Affordable Rental Housing Project
known as the Rose Tree Village Apartments; and
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1993, the City Council created an Affordable Housing
Board to address the concerns of the City regarding the shortage of affordable
housing and to stimulate the development of affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to assist private developers and
nonprofit agencies in the creation and expansion of affordable housing
opportunities and support services to enhance the quality of life of lower income
people; and
WHEREAS, on December 7, 1993, the City Council adopted the Comprehensive
Housing Affordable Strategy, which identifies housing needs and integrates the
proposed use of both public and private resources into a single housing plan; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 1993, the Planning and Zoning Board approved the
Final PUD Plan for the Rose Tree Village at Cunningham Corner PUD; and
WHERE
AS, the Rose Tree Village Apartments Affordable Housing Project
addresses several of the priorities of the Comprehensive Housing Affordable
Strategy and has been determined by the Council to be in the best interests of
the citizens of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Rose Tree Village Apartments Affordable Housing Project is desirable for
the citizens of the City in creating and expanding the supply of affordable
housing opportunities and support services to enhance the quality of life of
lower income people in the City and that the Council supports said Rose Tree
Village Apartments Affordable Housing Project.
