HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-201-12/06/1994-AGREEMENTS CARPOOL/VANPOOL PROGRAMS ISTEA FUNDS STATE OF COLORADO RESOLUTION 94-201 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE RECEIPT OF INTERMODAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION & EFFICIENCY ACT ("ISTEA") FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF CARPOOL AND VANPOOL PROGRAMS WHEREAS, the City operates carpooling and vanpooling programs known as "Commuter Pool " for the residents of the City of Fort Collins and the area of northern Colorado; and WHEREAS, the City has received federal funding to support this program in the past and wishes to continue to receive such funding; and WHEREAS, the ISTEA funding fully supports this program, requiring no additional funding from the City; and WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , authorizes the City to cooperate and contract with other governmental agencies in order to provide any function, service or facility lawfully authorized to each if such contract is properly authorized by each party thereto; and WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the Council , by ordinance or resolution, to enter into contracts with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services or enter into cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into intergovernmental agreements between the City of Fort Collins and the State of Colorado ("the State") concerning the operation of and funding for the Carpool and Vanpooling programs, which agreements will include the following terms and conditions: Section 1 . The City will provide centralized methods for local governments to work together with the private sector in addressing common, beneficial rideshare goals. Section 2. The City will submit quarterly financial statements for its Commuter Pool Programs to the State for review. Section 3. The City will submit quarterly cost data to the State and receive cost reimbursement, after State review and approval , up to a total of Three Hundred Twenty-one Thousand Dollars ($321,000) . Section 4. The term of the agreements shall be from January 1, 1995 through December 31, 1995.
