OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF A VERMEER T-555 TRENCHER
FROM VERMEER SALES AND SERVICE OF COLORADO, INC.
WHEREAS, the Vermeer T-555 trencher is the only unit capable of performing
the installation of electric distribution lines as required by the City's Light
and Power Department and Vermeer Sales and Service of Colorado, Inc. is the only
source available for this trencher, and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and approved in the Light & Power
Department budget for 1994 for this purchase; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (1) (b) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
authorizes the Purchasing Agent to negotiate the purchase of supplies and
services without utilizing a competitive bidding process where the Purchasing
Agent determines that there exists only one responsible source; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that Vermeer Sales and Service
of Colorado, Inc. , is the only responsible source for this procurement and has
submitted this determination to the Interim City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Interim City Manager has reviewed and approved the
justifications for this acquisition; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d) (3) of the Code requires approval of this
purchasing method by the City Council for items costing more than Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($50,000) , prior to acquisition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the acquisition from Vermeer Sales and Service of Colorado, Inc. , of a
Vermeer T-555 trencher, is hereby approved at a cost not to exceed One Hundred
Thirty-seven Thousand Six Hundred Dollars (137,600) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Cit ouncil held this 6th
day of December, A.D. , 1994.
