OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO AN AGREEMENT OF PURCHASE
WITH LESTER A. AND CLEORA M. HODGSON TO
PURCHASE PROPERTY FOR RECREATIONAL TRAIL RIGHT-OF-WAY
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has adopted the Parks
and Recreation Master Plan which recommends the completion of a loop
recreational trail system; and
WHEREAS, Council has appropriated funds to acquire Open Space and
Trails west of Taft Hill Road.
WHEREAS, the Hodgson property is located west of Taft Hill and will
supply a necessary link to connect the Poudre and Foothills Trails; and
WHEREAS, the Hodgsons have agreed to sell 1.4 acres to the City for a
sum of $8,000 to be used as a recreational trail right-of-way; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
1 . That the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into
agreement(s) and to execute documents necessary to purchase the following
described property from Lester A. and Cleora M. Hodgson:
A parcel in Larimer County, Colorado, containing approximately
1 .3 acres, subject to legal survey, located in the SE 1/4 of the
SE 1/4 of Section 32, T. 8 N. , R. 69 W. of the 6TH P.M.
2. That the principal use of the property will be for recreational trail
purposes.
3. That the purchase price for this property shall not exceed the sum of
Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 16th day of May, A.D. 1989.
