OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A CHANGE ORDER EXCEEDING
$50,000 FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE CIVIC ACTIVITY CENTER PLAN
WHEREAS, the City and Ballofet and Associates have entered into a professional services
agreement, dated July 5, 1995, pursuant to which Ballofet has agreed to perform certain services
related to the City Plan (the "Agreement'); and
WHEREAS, the Council-has-determined that theCity-Plan-process should furtherinclude-
the development of a Civic Activity Center Plan; and
WHEREAS,such Civic Activity Center Plan will necessarily be integrated with other aspects
of the City Plan to produce a cohesive, rational whole; and
WHEREAS, coordinated development ofthe Civic-Activity-Center-Plan-may be-achieved
effectively and efficiently through the addition of such services to those already being performed on
behalf of the City by Ballofet and Associates, as a Change Order to the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the funds for Phase I of the Change Order have been appropriated in 1995, and
the Change Order provides that Phase H funding is contingent upon appropriation of funds in the
1996 Budget; and
WHEREAS,the additional cost to the City resulting from the change order will be $57,225;
and
WHEREAS,Section 8-160 of the City Code requires City Council approval of change orders
to professional services contracts exceeding $50,000.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into a Change Order to
the Agreement in the amount of$57,225 for professional services for the Civic Activity Center Plan.
