HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-120-08/15/1995-AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS CARE INC FUNDING HOME PROGRAM HOUSING AUTHORITY HUD RESOLUTION 95-120 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING FUNDING FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS THROUGH THE HOME PROGRAM OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, in May, 1994, the City received designation as a participating jurisdiction in the HOME Program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and WHEREAS, the purpose of the HOME Program is to expand the supply of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing in the City and to strengthen the ability of the City to provide housing as well as to expand the capacity of non-profit community-based housing development organizations to provide such housing; and WHEREAS, the City has received certain requests for HOME Program funding which requests have been reviewed by Staff and recommended-to-the Council-by-the City's-Community Development Block Grant Commission, which applications would, in the aggregate, add 52 new units of affordable housing in the City; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City that the projects as hereafter described be approved for funding through the HUD HOME Program. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, that the following projects be and hereby are approved and authorized for funding through the HOME Program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development: 1. A Grant of$100,000 for the CARE, Inc. project on West Swallow Road which would construct 48 affordable housing units. Funding approval for this Project is conditioned upon the Project obtaining approval as a Site Specific Development Plan pursuant to Section 29-514 of the City code on or before February 15, 1996. 2. A Grant of$50,000 for the Fort Collins Housing Authority project which will relocate and rehabilitate an existing modular duplex structure at 221 Third Street in the City which will provide two 3-bedroom affordable housing units. 3. A Grant of$25,000 for the Fort Collins Housing Authority project which will create two affordable housing-ruit5 at2240-rV. Mulberry Street in the City.
