OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE ART IN PUBLIC PLACES BOARD
WHEREAS, on April 25, 1995,Council adopted on second reading Ordinance No. 21, 1995,
creating the Art in Public Places Board(the"Board'), and
WHEREAS, the Board was created to (1) advise and make recommendations to the City
Council regarding incorporation of works of art into construction projects and regarding expenditures
from the Art in Public Places Reserve Account for artists, works of art, and sites for placement of
works of art,following established and published guidelines; (2) advise and make recommendations
to the City Council regarding the acceptance of offers to donate art to be placed in public areas and
regarding the site for placement of such donated art; (3) advise and make recommendations to the
Director of Cultural,Library,and Recreational Services and the City Council as to rules,regulations,
guidelines, policy, administrative, and budgetary matters pertaining to the Art in Public Places
Program; and
WHEREAS, applications for the Board have been solicited and interviews conducted by the
Cultural Res-uurces Bo-dr&an&CuunLilmembersSmith an&Atari; aint
WHEREAS, Council wishes to appoint the initial members of the Board.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the following named persons be, and they hereby are, appointed as members
of the Art in Public Places Board with terms to expire as set forth below:

Joe Vansant July 1, 1998
Jim Lynxwiler* July 1, 1999
Jane Liska-Smith July 1, 1999

*arts professional
Section 2. That three (3) of the above named appointees are arts professionals. For the
purpose of this section, arts professional shall mean a person who has either a degree in a visual arts
related field and/or extensive professional experience in the visual arts.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this
20th day of June, A.D. 1995.
