OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING CONTINUED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR FUNDING
PARTNERS FOR HOUSING SOLUTIONS
WHEREAS,the provision of affordable housing is a major policy theme of the City Council's
1995-1997 Policy Agenda and serves an important public purpose for the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council's policy agenda also supports the development of public and
private partnerships between the City and other local, public, and private agencies: and
WHEREAS, Northern Colorado Community Housing, Ltd. ("NCCH"), a nonprofit
organization, has been formed to foster the development and retention of housing affordable to low
and moderate income individuals and families living in the Loveland and Fort Collins areas: and
WHEREAS, by adoption of Resolution 96-131 the City Council has authorized the City
Manager to enter into an Agreement committing the City to participate along with various other
public entities in northern Colorado (including the City of Loveland, Larimer County, and Colorado
State University) in funding the administration of NCCI1, doing business as Partners for Housing
Solutions, for the remainder of 1996 and 1997; and
WHEREAS, the NCCH has submitted a proposal requesting the City of Fort Collins provide
funding to match or leverage contributions from private for-profit and non-profit funding
organizations for the provision or financing of affordable housing in the Loveland and Fort Collins
areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the program objectives of NCCII will
serve an important public purpose for the citizens of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY ]'HE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that upon NCCH providing documentation of monies to be provided from private
for-profit and non-profit sector funding sources, the City Council will review, on an annual basis,
the availability of additional funding to augment contributions from such private funding sources in
order to further support the provision of affordable housing opportunities within the Fort Collins
community by NCCH.
