OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ACCEPTING THE COST OF DEVELOPMENT REPORT AND
PROVIDING DIRECTION ON THE COUNCIL WORK PLAN
ITEM RELATED TO THE COST OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS,the City Council has established certain goals and has also adopted a Council
work plan item related to the cost of growth; and
WHEREAS, in order to pursue this work plan item,the City Council believed that it would
be helpful to gain a better understanding of various issues related to the costs of growth and
development; and
WHEREAS,a work session was held by the City Council on February 11, 1992, to discuss
the work plan item; and
WHEREAS, it was determined pursuant to Resolution 92-53 of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins that the first step in assessing the cost of growth is to determine the site specific costs
of development with input from the affected members of the community; and
WHEREAS, another work session was held by the City Council on November 11, 1992, to
discuss the progress of the study conducted by staff in conjunction with the citizens of Fort Collins;
and
WHEREAS, the staff Report on the Cost of Development, which is on file in the office of
the City Clerk,has been completed and identifies various policy issues related to the cost of growth
and development; and
WHEREAS, the public reviewed the Report in a series of outreach events; and
WHEREAS, the public comments are documented in the "Listening Log", on file in the
office of the City Clerk, which identifies additional policy issues of concern to the public.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby accepts the Report on the Cost of Development.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby directed to present said Report and the
"Listening Log"to the next seated City Council for its consideration in developing the next Council
work plan.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of t e City Council held this 16th
day of March, A.D. 1993.
