OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE FOR USE OF
THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS INDOOR POLICE TRAINING FACILITY
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins' Police presently administer the use of
the City's Indoor Police Training Facility (the "Facility") ; and
WHEREAS, Police Services conducts firearms training and qualification
activities, as well as certain other law enforcement related training for its own
employees at the Facility; and
WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Service wishes to use the Facility for
firearms training and qualification activities for three (3) of its law
enforcement employees; and
WHEREAS, Police Services has negotiated the terms under which such use may
be made, including payments which will assist in funding the operation and
maintenance of the Facility; and
WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , authorizes governmental entities to
cooperate or contract with one another in order to provide any function, service
or facility lawfully authorized to each if such contract is properly authorized
by each party thereto; and
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
also authorizes the Council , by ordinance or resolution, to enter into contracts
with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services or enter into
cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an agreement between
the City of Fort Collins and the Internal Revenue Service for use of the Facility
for a total of three (3) hours per month through December 31, 1993, upon payment
of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
