OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
POSTPONING CONSIDERATION OF THE COUNCIL'S REVIEW
OF THE CITY MANAGER'S COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article III, Section 1 of the City Charter, it is the
responsibility of the City Council (the "Council ") to fix the compensation of the
City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Council has agreed to annually review the City Manager's level
of salary and total compensation; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager's salary has previously been fixed by the Council
at the level established in Sec. 2-596 of the City Code; and
WHEREAS, each year, the Council also conducts a review of the performance
of the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, having completed said performance review, the City Council has
established certain goals for the City Manager which goals are to be accomplished
on or before March 1, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes that its decision regarding the City
Manager's compensation should be postponed for further consideration until such
time as the Council has had an opportunity to review the extent to which the City
Manager has been able to accomplish the aforementioned goals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that any adjustment in the salary and total compensation of the City Manager
shall , and the same hereby is, postponed until the first regular meeting of the
City Council in March, 1994, in order to enable the Council to further review the
performance of the City Manager in light of the performance goals which have
heretofore been established by the Council for the City Manager.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 7th day of December, A.D. 1993.
