OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CREATING A COUNCIL/STAFF TASK FORCE TO IMPROVE
COUNCIL/STAFF EFFECTIVENESS AND COMMUNICATION IN
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 1993-1995 COUNCIL POLICY AGENDA
WHEREAS, the City Council and City Manager want to ensure that the City
government is organized in a way which will support the implementation of its
adopted policy agenda for 1993-1995; and
WHEREAS, the Council has previously directed the City Manager to present
a report and recommendation, on or before March 31, 1993, regarding the
organizational structure of the City's administrative staff; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has, in turn, requested that Council help focus
the use of the organization's resources by prioritizing the Council 's adopted
policy agenda; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to undertake all reasonable measures which may
help to improve communication among Council , City Manager and employees and to
encourage integration in the development and implementation of the policy agenda.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1. That the Council hereby creates a Council/Staff Task Force, to
consist of three Councilmembers, the City Manager and such additional City staff
members as may be designated by the City Manager, to review and develop methods
to promote the effective and rapid implementation of the City Council 's 1993-1995
policy agenda items.
Section 2. That Councilmembers Ann Azari Gerry Horak ,
Chris Kneeland are hereby appointed to the Task Force.
Section 3. That the Task Force shall report its findings and
recommendations to the City Council by March 1, 1994, in conjunction with the
report and recommendation to be received from the City Manager regarding the
organizational structure of the City's administrative staff.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the C' ,Council held this 21st
day of December, A.D. 1993.
