OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT OF THE EAST SIDE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAN TO
ACCOMMODATE BICYCLE LANES ON REMINGTON STREET AND INCORPORATING
SAID AMENDMENT INTO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 86-58 of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins, the East Side Neighborhood Plan was approved and incorporated into the
Comprehensive Plan of the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 8 of the East Side Neighborhood Plan encourages
alternative modes of transportation; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of bicycle lanes on Remington Street would be
in the best interests of the City because it would promote the use of an
alternative mode of transportation and would aid in retaining the residential
quality of the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution PZ 93-6, the Planning and Zoning Board has
recommended to the Council that the East Side Neighborhood Plan be amended to
specifically support the re-striping of Remington Street to establish bicycle
lanes thereon; and
WHEREAS, upon review of the aforesaid bicycle lane proposal , and upon
public hearing by the City Council , the Council has determined that the amendment
should be adopted and incorporated into the East Side Neighborhood Plan as a part
of the City's Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1. That the Transportation Map (Figure 5 on Page 30-A) of the East
Side Neighborhood Plan is hereby amended by changing the designation "Bikeway"
on Remington Street to "Bikelane" and that said amendment to the East Side Plan
is hereby approved for incorporation into the City of Fort Collins Comprehensive
Plan.
Section 2. That the City staff is hereby directed to prepare and present
to the Planning and Zoning Board on or before May 31, 1995, an evaluation of the
positive and negative impacts of implementing the changes to the East Side
Neighborhood Plan described in Section 1 above.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Cou of the City of Fort
Collins held this 1st day of June, A.D. 1993.
