HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-074-06/01/1993-CONTRACT ISTEA FUNDS STATE OF COLORADO TROLLEY BUILDING REHAB RESOLUTION 93-74 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF INTERMODAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION & EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991 FUNDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE TROLLEY BUILDING WHEREAS, the City owns the historic Trolley Car Building located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Howes and Cherry Streets; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 95, 1992 designated the Trolley Car Building as a local historic landmark; and WHEREAS, the City is desirous of repairing and stabilizing the building to ensure that it can be used in the future; and WHEREAS, Intermodal Surface Transportation and Efficiency Act of 1991 ("ISTEA") enhancement funds are available for historic preservation and rehabilitation of historic transportation buildings; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation has notified the City of approval of the City's application for $180,800 in Fiscal Year 1993 transportation enhancement funds; and WHEREAS, the matching ratio for this project is 80% ISTEA funds and 20% City match; and WHEREAS, the City's required matching funds of $45,200 are appropriated in the 1993 Adopted Budget; and WHEREAS, Section 29-1-203, C.R.S. , authorizes the City to cooperate and contract with other governmental agencies in order to provide any function, service, or facility lawfully authorized to each if such contract is properly authorized by each party thereto; and WHEREAS, Article II, Section 16, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the Council , by ordinance or resolution, to enter into contracts with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services or enter into cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Fort Collins and the State of Colorado concerning the allocation of Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 funds in the sum of One Hundred Eighty Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($180,800) for the rehabilitation of the Trolley Car Building. Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Cit Council held this 1st day of June, A.D. 1993. ATTEST: (� City Clerk
