OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ENDORSING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THREE REGIONAL
INTERGOVERNMENTAL PLANNING WORKING GROUPS
AND APPOINTING COUNCILMEMBERS TO SERVE
AS CITY REPRESENTATIVES THERETO
WHEREAS, meetings have heretofore been held among the elected officials of
the Cities of Loveland and Fort Collins and the County of Larimer ("the
Governmental Entities") for the purpose of discussing planning needs and issues
of common concern to the Governmental Entities; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said meetings, three specific areas of concern have
been identified as being of primary importance to the Governmental Entities,
which areas of concern are: (1) growth management and land use, (2)
transportation and (3) the County Road 32 Corridor; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be in the best interests of
the Governmental Entities that joint "Working Groups" be established to address
issues pertaining to each of the foregoing areas of concern; and
WHEREAS, it has further been determined by each of the Governmental
Entities that each such entity should appoint two of its elected officials to
serve on each of the Working Groups and that the chief administrative officer of
each of the Governmental Entities should also appoint appropriate administrative
staff to provide support services to the Working Groups.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1. That the establishment by the City of Fort Collins, the City
of Loveland and the County of Larimer of three (3) planning "Working Groups" is
hereby endorsed and approved.
Section 2. That the abovementioned "Working Groups" should seek to
identify issues, problems and opportunities of mutual interest or concern to the
Governmental Entities and develop strategies to address such issues, problems and
opportunities and recommend said strategies to the governing boards of the
Governmental Entities.
Section 3. That the efforts of the Working Groups should focus on issues
related to: (1) growth management and land use, (2) transportation and (3) the
County Road 32 Corridor.
Section 4. That the Councilmembers identified below are hereby appointed
to serve on the following Working Groups":
Growth Management and Land Use Working Group
• Bob McCluskey
• Alan Apt
Transportation Working Group
• Gerry Horak
• Gina Janett
County Road 32 Corridor Working Group
• Ann Azari
• Chris Kneeland
Section 5. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to appoint such
staff persons as he deems appropriate to provide support services to each of the
above-described "Working Groups."
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 4th day of May, A.D. 1993. ,------
