OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING AND ENDORSING THE APPOINTMENT OF
A COUNCILMEMBER TO THE LARIMER COUNTY FAIR BOARD
WHEREAS, the Larimer County Fair Board (the "Fair Board") was established
as an advisory board to the Board of County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the responsibilities of the Fair Board include: organizing and
coordinating the yearly County Fair with the County Fair Manager; submitting
recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the hiring of the County
Fair Manager; interviewing applicants and recommending names for appointment to
the Fair Board; and making recommendations concerning fairgrounds growth and
improvements; and
WHEREAS, appointments to the Fair Board are made to provide balanced
geographic representation in the County, so that committee members have an
interest in the entire County fairground operation; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Fair Board should meet geographic requirements and
the working bylaws of the Fair Board; and
WHEREAS, the twelve-member Board should include one representative from the
City of Loveland and one representative from the City of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins City Council and the Larimer County Commissioners
met at a quarterly City/County meeting on April 22, 1992, and out of this
meeting a request was made to appoint a representative from the City of Fort
Collins; and
WHEREAS, the Council endorsed and approved the appointment of Councilmember
Loren Maxey to the Fair Board by the adoption of Resolution 92-87 on May 19,
1992; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Maxey's term as a member of the Fort Collins City Council
ended April 13, 1993.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the City Council formally approves and endorses the appointment of Bob
Winokur to the Larimer County Fair Board.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins held this 20th day of April , A.D. 1993.
