HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-085-05/19/1998-AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTME RESOLUTION 98-85 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HARMONY ROAD BIKE PATH PROJECT - PHASE II WHEREAS,the City staff, working with a citizens' advisory committee and the consultant team of HNTB Corporation and Drake and Associates have planned and designed facilities for bicycle transportation on Harmony Road between College Avenue and Interstate Highway 25; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation ("CDOT") has made available to the City from funds of the Intermodal Surface Transportation .Act, the sum of$93,600.00 to assist in the construction of the Harmony Road Bikeway Project:. and WHEREAS, said funds have been made available to the City for the purpose of pursuing the second phase of the Harmony Road Bikeway Project,the purpose of which phase is to provide a bike lane on the south side of Harmony Road from College Avenue to Boardwalk Drive, and to provide bike lanes on both the north and south sides of Harmony Road between McMurry Avenue and Timberline Road; and WHEREAS, the City's matching funds for the aforesaid project are in the amount of $23,400.00, and are identified in the transportation planning budget; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that the aforesaid Intergovernmental Agreement be executed and that Phase II of the Harmony Road Bikeway Project be constructed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation for the funding of the Harmony Road Bikeway Project-Phase 11,which Intergovernmental Agreement will provide for CDOT funding to the City-in the sum of$93,600 for the purpose of providing a bike lane on the south side of Harmony Road from College Avenue to Boardwalk Drive and providing bike lanes on both the north and south sides of Harmony Road between McMurry Avenue and Timberline Road.
