OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO ED STONER FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
COMMUNITY AS COUNCILMEMBER,
ASSISTANT MAYOR, AND MAYOR
WHEREAS, Ed Stoner was appointed by City Council to serve as District
4 Councilmember and took office on August 16, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner was elected in 1985 for a four-year term as
District 4 Councilmember and served in office until March 14, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner served as Assistant Mayor of the City of Fort
Collins from April 17, 1987 until March 15, 1988; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner served as Mayor of the City of Fort Collins from
March 15, 1988 until March 14, 1989; and
WHEREAS, during his term of office he has served as a representative
to the Colorado Municipal League Urban Issues Committee, the Fort
Collins-Loveland Airport Authority, the Urban Growth Area Review Board, and
the Joint Utility District Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stoner has also served on the Council Subcommittee on
Economic Development, the Council Health and Safety Subcommittee, the Fire
and Police Pension Boards, the Council Finance Committee, and the Ethics
Board, and as liaison to various Boards and Commissions as well as in
numerous other assignments during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, this period of time has seen great growth and change in the
City, and Ed Stoner was called upon to devote substantial time and energy
to the affairs of the City of Fort Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to
Ed Stoner for his service and contributions to the community as
Councilmember, Assistant Mayor, and Mayor.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
21st day of March, A. D. 1989. \
