HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-006-02/20/1996-CDBG FUNDS HUD NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR INC RELOCATION ASSISTANCE TRAC PARKWAY TOWNHOMES RESOLUTION 96-6 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ALLOCATING $250,000 OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS WHEREAS, on June 6, 1995, the City Council passed Resolution 95-76 which allocated funds from the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, to various applicants for the FY 1995-96 Program year; and WHEREAS,of the projects approved for funding in Resolution 95-76, one was a"Set-Aside for Mobile Home Park Development Assistance" in the amount of $235,000 and another was a "Program Contingency" in the amount of$26,135; and WHEREAS,City advertised to solicit applications for the expenditure of the available funds; and WHEREAS, all applications were reviewed by the CDBG Commission which forwarded a recommendation to the Council for allocation of the available funds; and WHEREAS, on January 16, 1996, the Council tabled consideration of the CDBG Commission's recommendation to allow for discussion among the agencies involved in the relocation effort to reach consensus on how best to utilize the CDBG funds; and WHEREAS,on January 23, 1996,City staff conducted a meeting at which a consensus was reached as to how the best utilize the funds to assist Pioneer Mobile Home Park families; and WHEREAS, on February 8, 1996, the CDBG Commission met to reconsider its recommendation and forwarded a revised recommendation to the Council; and WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the revised recommendation of the CDBG Commission best serves the public interest of the citizens of the City. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the $250,000 of available CDBG funds (including $15,000 from the Program's Contingency)be allocated as follows: $ 35,000 TRAC Development Fees for Parkway Townhomes $200,000 Neighbor to Neighbor, Inc. Relocation Assistance $15,000 Neighbor to Neighbor, Inc.
