OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF
LARIMER COUNTY TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, PERSONAL
GROWTH, AND RECREATION PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH OF
AGES 8 TO 18, AS AN EXCEPTION TO THE COMPETITIVE PURCHASING PROCESS
WHEREAS, Section 8-160 (d)(1)(a) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the
Purchasing Agent to negotiate the purchase of supplies and services without utilizing a competitive
bidding process where the Purchasing Agent determines that only one responsible source exists; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that only one responsible source exists
for the educational, personal growth, and recreation program services to be provided, and has
submitted the requisite justification for that determination to the City Manager for approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed and approved the justification for this service;
and
WHEREAS, 8-160(d)(3) requires approval of this purchasing method by the City Council
for items costing more than FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000) prior to acquisition of the
subject services.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the acquisition by Cultural, Library and Recreational Services of educational,
personal growth and recreation program services for youth of ages 8 to 18 from THE BOYS AND
GIRLS CLUBS OF LARIMER COUNTY, at a cost not to exceed SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($60,000), be and hereby is approved.
Passed and adopted at regular meeting of Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 7th day
of May, A.D. 1996.
