OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH PROJECT SELF-SUFFICIENCY
FOR THE USE OF CITY FACILITIES FOR THE
PROJECT SELF-SUFFICIENCY VOLUNTEER CAR REPAIR PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Project Self-Sufficiency of Loveland-Fort Collins (PS-S) is a nonprofit agency
established and operating to assist in the development of self-sufficiency of single parents in the Fort
Collins area; and
WHEREAS,assistance with managing and obtaining automobile repairs through a Volunteer
Car Repair Program is among the several services that PS-S's offers to its participants, and is
intended to enable PS-S program participants to meet their own transportation needs; and
WHEREAS,PS-S has requested that the City make available for PS-S use in connection with
its Volunteer Car Repair Program the City's Fleet Services facilities; and
WHEREAS, City staff has determined that limited use by PS-S of the City's Fleet Services
facilities on designated weekend days will not interfere with or be detrimental to the City's own use
of said facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the proposed arrangement for allowing PS-S
to use the City's Fleet Services facilities for its volunteer car repair program would further the
important public purpose of assisting single parent families in becoming independent and free from
government assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS,that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Project Self-
Sufficiency of Loveland-Fort Collins permitting the limited use by Project Self-Sufficiency of the
City's Fleet Services facilities for a Volunteer Car Repair Program, which agreement shall contain
such terms and conditions as the City Manager, in consultation with the City Attorney, may deem
appropriate and necessary.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 2nd day of December,
A.D. 1997.
