OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING EXPENDITURES FROM THE ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
RESERVE ACCOUNT IN THE CULTURAL SERVICES AND FACILITIES FUND
FOR THE DESIGN SERVICES OF AN ARTIST
ON THE ENGLISH RANCH PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, Section 23-303 of the Code,which was added to the Code in 1995, established
the Art in Public Places Reserve Account for use in the acquisition or leasing of works or art,
maintenance, repair or display of works of art, and administrative expenses related to the Art in
Public-Plam&Prng=,_in_accordance with the Art in Public Places Guidelines adopted by the
Council in Ordinance No. 20, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the English Ranch Park project (the "Park") is a major City capital project
offering substantial opportunity for the incorporation of works of art into the design of the Park
itself, and
WHEREAS, inclusion of an artist in the design team for the Park will facilitate the
incorporation of artistic and aesthetic values in the Park as constructed, and will result in
development of works of art as part of the construction of the Park; and
WHEREAS, the Art in Public Places Board has recommended that Three Thousand Five
Hundred and Twenty Dollars($3,520)from the Art in Public Places Reserve Account in the Cultural
Services and Facilities Fund be expended in order to retain an artist to provide design services in the
planning of the Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS,that the expenditure of up to Three Thousand Five Hundred and Twenty Dollars($3,520)
from the Art in Public Places Reserve Account in the Cultural Services and Facilities Fund for the
Design Services of an Artist on the English Ranch Park Project is hereby authorized.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 16th day of January,
A.D. 1996.
