AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO AMEND A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST SEGMENT OF
THE HARMONY ROAD BIKEWAY PROJECT
WHEREAS, on September 12, 1994, the City entered into a grant agreement with the
Colorado Department of Transportation ("CDOT"), which provides for preliminary engineering of
bike lanes along Harmony Road in between Interstate 25 and College Avenue in Fort Collins (the
"Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement is still in effect and provides that its terms and conditions may
be modified by written supplemental contract; and
WHEREAS,preliminary engineering work for the Harmony Road Bikeway project has been
completed and funds are available through CDOT for the construction of the first segment of the
project; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the $210,000 in funding to be provided through CDOT for the
construction, City funds have been budgeted and appropriated in the Transportation Services budget
for 1996 for the bikeway project; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to proceed with the construction of the Harmony Road
Bikeway project in cooperation with CDOT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS,COLORADO,that the Mayor be,and hereby is, authorized to enter into"Contract
Amendment One" to the Agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, in
the total additional amount of $210,000, for the purpose of constructing the first segment of the
Harmony Road Bikeway Project.
