OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO
THE CITY'S 2002 LEGISLATIVE POLICY AGENDA
WHEREAS,on January 15,2002,the City Council adopted Resolution 2002-009,approving
the City's 2002 Legislative Policy Agenda; and
WHEREAS, at the time of adoption of Resolution 2002-009, the Council requested that the
Council Legislative Review Committee consider six proposed amendments to the 2002 Legislative
Policy Agenda; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2002, the Legislative Review Committee considered those
proposed amendments, and as a result the Committee voted to recommend the following
amendments be made:
Page 16,SALES AND USE TAX,add statement#4,"Support federal legislation that
gives state and local governments the authority to collect legally due sales and use
taxes on remote sales."
Page 21, PARKS AND RECREATION, rewrite statement#2 to read, "Support the
use of Great Outdoors Colorado and other state sources for municipal government
projects, with maximum local discretion regarding local needs and priorities."
Page 21, PLANNING AND LAND USE, add statement #3, "Support enabling
legislation to clearly provide for the local option to impose school impact fees."
Page 22, PLANNING AND LAND USE, add statement#9,"Oppose federal takings
legislation and protect local authority to make land use decisions."
Page 24,POLICE SERVICES,add statement#6, "Support an adequate public radio
spectrum be preserved for use by local police,fire and emergency response services."
Page 30, TRANSPORTATION, add statement #8, "Support federal policy which
encourages multi-modal transportation."
and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to adopt the recommended amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the 2002 Legislative Policy Agenda,adopted by the City Council in Resolution 2002-
009, is hereby amended to reflect the changes described above.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fart Collins held this
5th day of February, A.D. 2002.
