OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING A LEASE OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 149 GRANDVIEW
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins is the owner of the property at 149 Grandview, Fort
Collins, Larimer County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the City-owned property was formerly used as the residence of the Cemetery
Superintendent; and
WHEREAS,this Superintendent position has been eliminated and the City does not need to
utilize this house as a staff residence; and
WHEREAS, pending future need for the land on which the house is situated for use as
interment space, staff has proposed to lease the house to generate income and deter potential
vandalism; and
WHEREAS, staff will negotiate a lease for this house for a term of one year, retaining the
option for the City to renew the lease for an additional year, at a monthly rate of at least $900; and
WHEREAS, under Section 23-114 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, the Council is
authorized to lease any and all interests in real property owned in the name of the City,provided that
Council first finds that the lease is in the best interests of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the Council hereby finds that the lease of the residence at 149 Grandview
pursuant to the terms described herein is in the best interests of the City of Fort Collins.
Section 2. That the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to negotiate and execute a
lease agreement consistent with the terms hereof.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 1 st day of June, A.D.
