OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE 2000-2004
FORT COLLINS HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the National Affordable Housing Act ("NAHA") requires that, in order to
apply for certain Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") programs, local
governments must have an approved Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan;
and
WHEREAS, representatives and individuals from the various housing and support
services agencies in the community and other individuals interested in affordable housing and
community development issues have participated in the thirty day public review required by
HUD to develop the Fort Collins Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan
("Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the Plan contains a detailed discussion of the housing and community
development needs of low and moderate income people of the community; presents a listing of
objectives that will address those needs during the next five years; and lists in a "one-year action
plan" specific projects which will help implement the objectives; and
WHEREAS, the Affordable Housing Board and the Community Development Block
Grant Commission have reviewed the Plan and recommended to the Council that it be submitted
to HUD for approval; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on May 11, 2000 in order to solicit citizen
comments on the Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit for approval the 2000-
2004 Fort Collins Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 20th day of June,
A.D. 2000.
