HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-121-09/18/2001-AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF A PORTION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 250 MASON STREET, TO TEXAS, NEW MEXICO RESOLUTION 2001-121 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF A PORTION OF THE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY AT 250 NORTH MASON STREET, FORT COLLINS, COLORADO TO TEXAS,NEW MEXICO & OKLAHOMA COACHES, INC. ("TNM&O") WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins is the owner of property known as the Downtown Transit Center (the "Center") located at 250 North Mason Street, Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado; and WHEREAS,the Center is being constructed to be operated as a central multi-modal facility; and WHEREAS, the City desires to lease to Texas New Mexico & Oklahoma Coaches, Inc. ("TNM&O)a 190 square foot portion of the Center,together with one bicycle storage locker and the use of an outdoor bus stop area (the "Premises"), for the purpose of providing over the road transportation, at an annual rent of$3,144; and WHEREAS, under Section 23-114 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, the Council is authorized to lease any and all interests in real property owned in the name of the City,provided that Council first finds that the lease is in the best interests of the City. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That the Council hereby finds that leasing the Premises to TNM&O under the terms listed above is in the best interests for the City of Fort Collins. Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to a lease agreement including such terms and conditions as the City Manager, in consultation with the City Attorney, determines to be necessary and appropriate to protect the interests of the City, consistent with the terms of this Resolution.
