HomeMy WebLinkAboutINITIATED ORDINANCE - 11/04/1952 - COUNCIL-INITIATED ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO GRANT A REVOCABLE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATIINITIATED ORDINANCE No. 2, 1952 Being an Initiated Ordinance Authorizing the City Council to Grant a Revocable Permit for the Operation of Busses Within the City. Be it Ordained by the Qualified Voters of the City of Fort Collins. Section 1. The City Council is hereby authorized to grant a revocable permit for the operation of busses within the city limits of the City of Fort Collins. Said permit shall contain such conditions as the City Council may deem advisable, including the following, to-wit: (a). The routes shall be agreed upon between the City and the licensee, but in no event shall the daily miles covered be less than those now covered by the present transportation system. (b). The licensee shall furnish and deliver to the City a good and sufficient surety bond in the penal sum of $10,000.00, to be approved by the Mayor and conditioned that he shall fully conform with the permit to be executed, and shall at all times render efficient and adequate service to the citizens of Fort Collins. (c). The City Council shall have the right and power to regulate the rates, fares, use of transfers, ruins and charges for service and the right to require uniform, convenient and adequate service to the public. (d). The licensee shall obtain and file with the City Clerk adequate public liability and property damage insurance and Workmans’ Compensation insurance. (e). Any expense in connection with the granting of said license shall be borne by the licensee. Ordinance Approved by Voters November 4, 1952 (f). The licensee shall pay to the City annually for the use of the streets, such amounts as may be fixed by the City Council, based on a percent of the years revenue, or flat rate basis. Section 2. All ordinances and partsof ordinances in conflict with the ordinance are hereby repealed. Ordinance Approved by Voters November 4, 1952
