ordinance was introduced, read, rind ordered printed at the,
regular m^eting of the City Council of the City of Fort Col-
lins, held October 20, A. D. 1902. Ordinance No, 16, 19029
; elating to Spitting upon the Sidewalks or in any Public
Building,
BE IT ORDAINED, By the City Council of the City of
Fort Collins, Colorado:-
Section 1, It shall be unlawful for any person or
persons within the city limits of the City of Fort Collins,
to spit upon the sidewalks of sa:CdJoity or upon the floors
of the post-office, court house, city hall, or any other -pub-
lie buildingwithin the limits of said city.
Sec, 2, Immediately after the passage of thi--
ordin-xnee, the City Marshall shall oause to be posted at
Public places u-on the streets, and in the public buildings,
notices prohibiting the spitting upon the sidewalks or. in
such public buildings. Provided, however, that the failure
of the City Marshall to post such notices shall not be a
defense to any prosecution for the violation of this ordinance,
Sec. 3, Any person violating any of the provisions
of Section one of this ordinance, shall, uoon conviction
thereof, be fined for each offense in the sum of not less than
Three Dollars ( $3,00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ( $100,00 )
and costs of suit, and. in default of the payment thereof shall
be imprisoned in the city or county jail until such fine and
costs are paid. Provided the Court may limit such imprison-
ment to not less than one nor more than ninety days.
The foregoing ordinance was introduced, and read at
the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Fort
Collins, Colorado on the 20th day of October, A. D. 1902, and
