HomeMy WebLinkAbout008 - 04/02/1917 - RELATING TO BROKERS ORDINANCE NO. 1917 RELATING TO BROI.ERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS: Section 1. It shall be ur4awful for any person, persons or corporation to engage in or carry on within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, the business of a broker, which business is hereby defined to be and to consist of buying or selling stocks, bonds and other forms of securities, or a general brokerage business, on commission, without first having obtained a license therefor as hereinafter provided. Section 3. Any person, persons or corporation desiring to engage in the business of broker, as defined in Section 1 of this Ordinance, within. the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, shall file an application for a license with the City Clerk of said city upon a form to be prescribed by said last named officer, which application shall be accompanied by the license fee herein prescribed; the City Clerk shall thereupon present the application to the City Council, and if the same is approved a license will be issued to the applicant to be duly signed by the Commissioner of Safety and Ex Officio Mayor ' and bountersigned by the City Clerk under the corporate seal, which said license shall expire one (1) year from the date of issuance. Section 3. The license fee shall be dollars per annum, -and no license will be issued for any less period than one year; and the same shell not be transferable.
