Public notice is hereby given that the following ordinance was
introduced, read and ordered printed, at a regular meeting, of.4the City
Council of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, held on the day of

An Ordinance In Relation to the Observance of Sunday.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Fort Collins, -
Colorado,
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons with-
in the limits of the City of Fort Collins, on the first day of the
week, commonly called Sunday, to keep open any store, shop or other
place of business, for the purpose of selling goods, wares or merchan-
dise, or , for the purpose of carrying on trade in any manner whatsoever,
provided, however, that drug stores may be kept open on said day for
the purpose of selling drugs and medicines.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful . for any such person or persons,
on said day, to engage in any public contest or game, or to keep open
any public billiard hall, pool-room, bowling-alley, or other public
place of recreation or amusement , excepting museums, art exhibitionsT 3
libraries , reading rooms, d ax eptinP', tt�i .,Fivin LOo ' cone$rts or sim-
ilar musical entertainment `
Section 3. The provision this ordinance shall not apply to
livery stables, hotels, cafes, restaurants, lunch rooms, common car-
riers, telegraph, telephone,#`Aexpress offices , physicians, dentists,
occulists, nor to any work of necessity, the omission of which upon
said day would cause great hardship, danger or irreparable loss.
Section 4, Any person guilty of violating any of the provisions
Of' this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less
than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Fifty Dollars ( $50.00 ) and
costs of suit; and in default of payment of such fine and costs, shall
be imprisoned in the city jail or other place provided for the incar-
ceration of prisoners, until such fine and costs are paid, but not to
exceed ninety days.
The foregoing ordinance was introduced and read at a regular
meet u of the City— Council of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, on
theta day of A. D. 1905, and was published in the Fort Col-

in said city, on the'y7 clay of" p+sss�, A. D. 1505, wid was duly passed
and ado ted by said Citg Council at the reFmlar meetin- thereof, held
