OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING SECTION 26-280 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RELATING TO RATES FOR CATEGORY I CUSTOMERS OF THE CITY'S
WASTEWATER UTILITY
WHEREAS,rate increases for wastewater service to Category I customers were inadvertently
not included in the City's 1994 and 1995 ordinances that increased the rates for the City's various
categories of wastewater customers; and
WHEREAS, one of these categories of wastewater customers, Category 1, "Special without
agreement," was created in July of 1994 as the result of the termination of the 1974 agreement for
wastewater services between the City and Colorado State University; and
WHEREAS, wastewater rate increases were implemented in January of 1995 and January
of 1996, respectively, for the City's various categories of wastewater customers, except that no such
increases were made for the City's Category I customers; and
WHEREAS, the Code still reflects, therefore, the pre-1995 rate of$1.39 per 1,000 gallons
of winter quarter use for its Category I customers; and
WHEREAS, this Ordinance is necessary in order to amend that rate to increase it to $1.57
per 1,000 gallons of winter quarter use in order to accurately reflect the City's costs to provide
wastewater services to its Category I customers and to bring that rate in line with the previous rate
increases for the other customer categories.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that Section 26-280 of the City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 26-280. Service charges established by category.
The schedule of rates for each category described in § 26-279 shall be as follows:
