HomeMy WebLinkAbout035 - 12/29/1924 - MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL LOTS AND BUILDING FOR THE CITY (EMERGENCY ORD ORDINANCE NO 1924, BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL LOTS AND BUILDING FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WhEREAS Since the adoption of the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st 1925, an emergency and unforseen contingenc,t has arisen whereby it has becone and is necessary to acquire additional rooms and building for the City of Fort Collins for the use of its several departments in conjunction with the present City Hall and in order to supply such necessary rooms and building it is advisable and necessary to purchase and equip the same and the public necessity requires an additional appropriation of public funds therefor therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THh CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there oe and hereby is appropriated our of the revenues of the C_tv of Fort Collins me sum of lVenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000 00) to oe used for the purchase, repair and altering of such real estate and building or buildings as may be necessary for the use of the several departments of the City of Fort Collins in conjunction ovith the present City Hall vvhich said sum, when this ordinance takes effect, shall be credited on the booxs of the City Clerk and City Treasurer to the Building Emergency Fund, upon which all warrants for the purchase, repair and alteration of such property and building shall be drawn and all such warrants shall have printed or written upon their face the narie of the said funct upor which they are drawn, and in the event there aie no zunds avail- able in the City treasury with which to pay the said warrants wnen preserted to the City Treasurer he shall endorse thereon "Presented for payment (date) , no funds , this warrant will draw interest at the rate of six per cent pe-L annusn from the date of presentation until payment u CitS Treasurer Section 2 In the event of the revenues being in- sufficient to pay the warrants authorized under the appropriation contained in Section 1 of this ordinance, the City Council shall provide by appropriation from the general revenues of the year 1926 and each year thereafter until all such warrants are paict, not less than Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000 00) eacr year with which to paj said warrants and all interest accruing thereon Section 3 In the opinion of the CitS Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public nealth, peace and safety and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, under and b5 virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the Cit3 Council at a regular adjourned meeting this 29th day of December, A D 1924 eofl Commissioner of S/alety and/ExSOfficio M or 1 A TIES T City Clerk S TA TE OF CO LORADO, ) ) SS COUI\TTi1' OF LARIMER ) I A J ROSENOW, CitS Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do herebj certify and declare that tee foregoing ordinance, con- sisting of three (3) sections was duly proposed and read at length at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council held on the 29th day of December, A D 1924, and was duly adopted and ordered pub- lished in the Fort Collins ExpresS-Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins , by the unanimous vote of all the members of the Citv Council, as an emevgencj ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV .3 0�— of the City Charter, and thereafter, and on, to-wit, the _ day of December, A D 1924, saga Orainance No C_3 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a aail5 newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF I rave hereunto set my hand and 3 o ' affixed the seal of said City, this day of December, A D 1924 'City Clerk
