HomeMy WebLinkAbout003 - 05/19/1913 - RELATING TO PRINTING AND STATIONERY SUPPLIES FOR THE CITY J Ordinance No 1913 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PRINTING AND STATIONERY SUPPLIES FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That hereafter no printing of any kind shall be ordered or furnished for the City of Fort Collins, or stationery supplies purchased except under contract as herein provided Section 2 Immediately upon the taking effect of this ordinance irt $h31 be the duty of the City Clerk to advertise for a period of not more than ten (10) days for _ sealed -bids for printing and publishing all ordinances adopted by the City Council and furnishing and printing all stationery and other printing supplies required by said City for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December-31 1913, and every year thereafter the City Clerk shall adver- tise during the month of December in the same manner for bids for the printrbg and stationery supplies for the ensuing fiscal year and it shall be the duty of the City Clerk to prepare a classified list of the kind and character of the printing required and an estimate of the probable am.o nt of stationery supplies including all blank forms , receipts and records that may be required in all departments of said City which said list shall be furnished to bidders as a basis for making bids for said work and all bids shall be accompanied by a certified check for the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100 00) to be forfeited and paid to the 01ty of Fort Collins in the event the person awarded -1- the contract under said bids shall fail and refuse to enter into a contract with the City of Fort Collins within five (5) days after the award of contract by the City Council in accordance with the terms and provisions of the bid so offered and no bid shall be considered by the City Council unless accompanied by such certified check Section 3 Upon the receipt of the bids under the notice provided in Section two (2) of this ordinance the City Clerk shall immediately submit the same to the City Council then to be opened the City Council reserving the right to reject any and all bids which may be submitted for said work and supplies and upon the acceptance of a bid or bids by the City Council the successful bidder _ shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Fort Collins`in�accordance with the terms and provisions of the bid so accepted and at the same time shall execute a bond to said city with good and sufficient sureties to be approved by the Mayan and City Clerk of said city in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1 000 00) donditioned for the faithful performance of the terms and provisions of the contract, which said contract when so executed shall be filed together with the bond with the City Clerk and shall be in force and effect for the balance of the fiscal year IDf 19130, and the same course pursued for each fiscal year Section 4 No printing printing supplies and stationery of any kind shall be purchased except under and pursuant to the terms and provzsionsof the contract set forth in Section three (3) of this ordinance Provided in an emergency printing or stationery supplies may be ordered under and by virtue of a resolution of the City Council of said city and not otherwise -2- Section 5 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed Passed and adopted this Lq day of May 1913 i Mayor t City Clerk
