RELATING TO THE K IIG OF SIDE ILKS FREE FROM St10CI AND
ICE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KFT COLLINS
Section 1. The owners of property abutting upon sidewalks
within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins shall at
all times keep the sidewalks abutting upon and in front of the
lot or lots owned by them free and clear of snow and ice , and
any such owner or owners who shall �f(a.�i�l� to remove the snow and

then the Commissioner of Public ,, orks shell at once have said
walks cleaned and cleared of snow and ice and the expense thereof
charged to the oxner or ovwne`rs of said lot or lots , and the
expense so incurred by the City , together with all costs of
making the assessment , Etall become a lien against the lot or
lots abutting upon the walk so cleaned of snow and ice, ard col-
lected as provided in Ordinance 11o. 19, 1884, as amended by
ordinance No. 4, 1904, passed and adopted I::ay 16 , 1904, "Con-
Oerning Assessment and Collection of Special Charges," unless
the ovmer of said lots shall elect to pay to the City Clerk
the expense of said cleaning on or before the time the Com-
missioner of Publi. c forks shall certify the expense thereof to
the City Council for assessment and collection as provided under
said last mentioned ordinance.
Section 2 . Ordinance 11o . 8, 1908, "In Relation to the
Removal of Snow and Ice from the Sidewalks ," passed and adopted
September 21, 1908 , is hereby repealed, and all ordinances and
parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance ; but this
repeal shall not be taken or construed as releasing or discharging
any cause of action that mW have accrued u:Aer such ordinance
prior to the taking effect of this repeal .
