HomeMy WebLinkAbout016 - 07/26/1924 - MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY I ORDINANCE NO 1924 BEING AN ETAERGENCY ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPYENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS. --------------------- "MEREAS, since the adoption of the annual appropri- ation ordinance-for the fiscal year ending December 31, 19242 and unforeseen Conti en r an emergency/has arisen whereby, Nr ie safety of the public and fire protection in said City, it has become necessary to purchase additional fire department equipment for the Depart- ment of Safety of said City and to provide an appropriation of public funds for such purchase, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1. That there be and hereby is appropriated out, of the revenues of the City of Fort Collins the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) to-be used for the purchase and installation of additional fire department equipment for the Department of Safety in said City, which said sum, }+then this ordinance takes effect, shall be credited on the books of the City Clerk and City Treasurer to the FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT FUND, upon which Fund all warrants for the pvrcaase and instal- latlon of said equipment shall be drawn, and all such warrants shall have printed or written on their face the name of the said Fund upon whicn they are dravin, and in the event there are no funds available in the City Treasury with which to pay the said warrants when presented to the City Treasurer heshall endorse thereon "Presented for payment (date), no J funds, this warrant will draw interest at the rate of six per J cenl�per annum from date of presentation until payment." In the event of the revenues being in- sufficient to pay the varrants authorizer under the approp- riation contained in Section 1 of this ordinance, the City Council shall provide by appropriation from the general revenues of the years 1925, 1926, 1927 and 1928, unless all of said warrants are sooner paid, sufficient funds with which to pay J said warrants an-1 all interest accruing thereon.
