HomeMy WebLinkAbout013 - 12/15/1939 - RELATING TO THE OFFICES OF CITY ENGINEER, SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER WORKS, ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER AND ORDINANCE NO 13 , 1939, BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE OFFICES OF CITY ENGINEER, SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER VTORKS, ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER AND SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS AND FIXING T.H. SALARIES FOR SAID OFFICES AND PEPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONF:, ICT HEREI4ITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 In addition to the duties of the City Engineer, the City Engineer shall also be and discharge the duties of the Superintendent of Water Works under the direction and control of the City Manager and the salary and compensation for such combined services shall be such amount as shall be fixed by resolution of the City Council and paid out of the General Fund and Water Works Fund of the City Section 2 There is hereby created the office of Assistant City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets, which shall be under the control and direction of the City Manager and the Assistant City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets shall discharge such duties as may be assigned to said officer by the City Manager and receive such compensation as may be fixed by resolution of the City Council Section 3 Ordinance No 8, 1919, and all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed Section 4 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting, held this i5th day of December, A D 1939 Commissio P of Saf ty and Ex-Officio Mayor Attest City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO, ) )) ss County of Larimer I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the fore- going Ordinance, consisting of four (4) sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 15th day of December, A D 1939, and vsas duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Leader, a weekly nev�spaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter, and on to-wit the 21st day of December, 1939, was duly published in the Fort Collins Leader, a weekly newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNhSS WHEPEOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 21st day of December, A D 1939 City Clerk
