HomeMy WebLinkAbout002 - 02/17/1933 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 007, 1920, REGULATING THE USE, HANDLING, STORAGE AND SALE OF INFLAMMABLE LIQU ORDINANCE NO 2 , 19330 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 70 19209 BEING AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE USE, HANDLING, STORAGE AND SALE OF INFLAMMABLE LIQUIDS AND TIM PRODUCTS THEREOF WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there be added to said Ordinance the following to be designated as Section 13 (a) Section 13 (a) It shall be unlawful within the City of Fort Collins to put more than two (2) gallon of gasoline into the tank of any motor powered machine, except through a hose attached to a licensed pump, and the carrying of gasoline or other inflammable liquid in excess of Two (2) gallon in an open container is hereby prohibited Where heavy machinery powered with a gasoline engine is being used, a special permit may be obtained from the Commissioner of Safety to fill the tank or container on the same with gasoline otherwise than as herein permitted Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservatian of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the City Council, this 17th day of February, A D 1933 Commissioner of Safety and { -Officio ATTEST Mayor City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO ) ss County of Larimer ) I, A J ROSENOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing Ordinance, consisting of two (2) sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 17th day of February, A D 1933, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper anti the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter and on to-wit the 21st day of February, A D 1933, said Ordinance No 2 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 21st day of February, A D 1933 City Clerk
