BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 19 , 1917 AS
AMENDED BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 11
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Ordinance No 19 , 1917, as amended,
be amended by adding thereto the following
Section 11 The drivers of all motor propelled
vehicles when traveling along any street adjacent to which is
located a school building used for school purposes , except police
and fire department vehicles while being legally operated in an
emergency in the necessary performance of public duties , shall
at all tunes have such motor propelled vehicles under control so
as not to endanger pedestrians traveling through or across such
streets in the vicinity of said schools , ana upon signal from any
person authorized by the Commissioner of Safety or by the Chief
of Police shall come to a complete stop , and when continuing
shall do so with aue regard for the safety of all pedestrians
upon said street or portion thereof Said signal to stop may be
given either by a person holding a stop signal or by the placing
of a traffic stop sign or signal in said street or immediately
adjacent thereto Anyone violating the provisions of this
Section shall be deemed guilty of a violation of said Ordinance
No 191 1917 , and punished as provided_ therein
Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council
an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health,
peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon
its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter

Introduced, read at length and adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular
meeting of the City Council, held the 23rd day of March A D
1934

aforesaid Ordinance consisting of two (2) sections , was duly
proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on the 23rd day of March , A D 1934, and was duly
adopted and ordered. published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier,
a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort
Collins , by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council ,
as an Emergency Ordinance , in accordance with the provisions of
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter and thereafter
and on to-wit the _eday of March A D 1934, said Ordinance
No .3 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier ,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado
