HomeMy WebLinkAbout009 - 04/13/1934 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 005, 1915, RELATING TO JUNK DEALERS AND JUNK PEDDLERS OR COLLECTORS (EMERGENC ORDINANCE NO �, 1934 being AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 51, 19159 RELATING TO JUNK DEALERS AND JUNK PEDDLERS OR COLLECTORS BE IT ORRAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That the first sentence of Section 4 of Ordinance No, 5, 1915, relating to junk shop dealers and junk shop peddlers or collectors , be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows , to-wit "The term "junk'k as used in this ordinance, small include old iron, lead, brass , steel , copper or other metals , rags, rope , bottles , glass, rubber in any form, and similar old or discarded articles , and machinery or parts thereof, dismantled or wrecked motor or other vehicles or parts thereof, and those being wrecked or dismantled, and those held for the purpose of being wrecked or dismantled " Section 2 That there be added to Section 2 of said Ordinance No. 5, 1915, the following 'That all licenses issued under this Ordinance shall expire December 31st of the year for which said license is issued and the full license fee provided in said Ordinance No 5, 1915, shall be collected, regardless of the time when the same is issued, except with respect to licenses for 1934 required by this ordinance and not required by said Ordinance No 5, 1915, and for businesses not carried on prior to the filing of the application for said license and for licenses so issued, a charge shall be made in proportion to the time which- the license will run with respect to a full year, whole months only to be considered No license issued under said Ordinance No 5, 1915 or this Ordinance, shall be transferable and no -1- refund of the license fee shall be given where the business shall be discontinued prior to the expiration of the license " Section 3 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in- conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed Section 4 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage , under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting held this 13th day of April, A D 1934 Commissioner of Safety and Ex-Offic o Mayor ATTEST City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO ) ss County of Larimer ) I, A J ROSENOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing Ordinance, consisting of four (4) sections , was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 13th day of April, A D 1934 , and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express- Courier , a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins , by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council as an emergency ordinance , in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter and on to-wit the /Zday of April, A D 1934, said Ordinance No J, was duly published in The Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this /7-7 ay of April, A D 1934 City Clerk
