HomeMy WebLinkAbout015 - 10/26/1934 - AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $1500 AND BEARING ORDINANCE NO 15 , 1934 , BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $1500 00 AND BEARING INTEREST NOT TO EXCEED 4%, ON ACCOUNT OF AN EMERGENCY ARISING IN CONNECTION WITH THE PAYMENT OF SEMI-ANNUAL INTEREST ON $75,000 00 FACE VALUE CONDUIT BONDS OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS , since the adoption of the annual appro- priation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31 , 1934., an emergency and unforeseen contingency has arisen whereby it has become and is necessary to expend not to exceed the sum of $1500 00 for the payment of the semi-annual interest due on $75,000 00 face value of conduit bonds of the City of Fort Collins , which were authorized by a vote of the people and issued by the City during the year of 1934, said interest becoming due November 1, 1934, and WHEREAS , no provision was made for the payment of the interest on said bonds from any fund of the City what- soever, or from the proceeds of the sale of said bonds THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there be and hereby is appro- priated out of the general revenues of the City of Fort Collins for the year 1935 and subsequent years , as may hereafter be directed by the City Council, unless taken up prior thereto , the sum of $1500.00 on account of the payment of semi-annual interest due November 1, 1934 on $75 ,000 00 face value of conduit bonds of the City of Fort Collins, and registered warrants bearing interest not to exceed 4% of the City shall be issued to cover the amount required therefor , not to exceed the sum of $1500.00 , the denomination and rate of interest of -1- said warrants to be as directed by the Commissioner of Finance , which said sum, when this ordinance shall take effect , shall be credited on the books of the City Clerk and City Treasurer to Emergency Conduit Bond Interest Fund Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article Iv of the City Charter Introduced , read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting, held this 26th day of October, A D 1934 Commissioner of Safety and Ex- fficio Mayor ATTEST City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO , ) ss County of Larimer ) I, A J ROSENOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins , do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing Ordinance , consisting of two (2) sections , was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 26th day of October, A D 1934 , and was duly adopted and ordered published- in the Fort Collins Express- Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins , by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter , and thereafter and on to-wit the 1st day of Novembep, A D 1934, said Ordinance No 15 was duly published in The Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 1st day of November, A D 1934 City Clerk
