HomeMy WebLinkAbout011 - 07/03/1947 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 008, 1927, RELATING TO THE USE AND SALE OF WATER FROM THE CITY WATER WORKS, R ORDINANCE NO 11 1947 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 8, 1927 AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE USE AND SALE OF WATER FROM THE CITY WATER WORKS, REGULATING THE USE THEREOF, AND FIRING THE SCHEDULE OF CHARGES THEREFOR AND ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR SEWER SERVICES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That Section 12 of Ordinance No 8 of the Series of 1927, as amended, of the City of Fort Collins, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows to-wit "Section 12 To every receipt issued to each consumer where the premises or building using water under said receipt is connected with any sewer, there shall be added, except where said receipt is for the purpose of irrigation only, for the use of the water and the said sewer, in addition to all other charges, the following annual a applicable rates and charges, to-wit 1 bath and 1 toilet $10 00 Toilet only 6 00 Each additional toilet or bath 50 (Toilets shall include urinals and baths shall include shower baths) Large laundries 35 00 Small laundries and cleaners 20 00 Car washing racks 20 00 Restaurants Cafes and Lunchrooms Class "A" (seating capacity for 40 or more patrons) 25,00 Class "B" (seating capacity for 25 to 40 patrons) 20 00 Class "C" (seating capacity for less than 25 patrons) 15 00 Beer Parlors 20 00 Sewer connections only inside City limits 3 00 Sewer connections outside City limits per residence 24 00 Said rates and charges shall be collected in installments of one-half on the first day of February and one-half on the first day of August of each year, and in all cases where the water rent is a flat rate, said installments shall be due and collected at the time the flat water rate is collected and as a part of the same charge, and in cases of meter the same shall be collected at the time when the February and August meter rates are due and payable, and no one shall be permitted to use water until and unless said water rates and sewer charges are paid " Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length, and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meeting of the City Council, held this 3rd day of July, A D 1947 Mayor ATTEST ty Clerk -2- STATE OF COLORADO, ) ss County of Larimer ) I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of two sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd day of July, A D 1947, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper and official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter and on to-wit the 8th day of July , A D 1947, said Ordinance No 11 , was duly published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this $tdd day of July, A D 1947 / City Clerk
