HomeMy WebLinkAbout010 - 12/26/1941 - AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS AT THE RATE OF NOT TO EXCEED 3% ANNUM AND NOT TO EXC ORDINANCE NO 10 1941, BEING AN EI41ERGENCY ORDINANCE, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS AT THE RATE OF NOT TO EXCEED THREE PER CENT PER ANNUM AND NOT TO EXCEED $p1 .302 97 IN AMOUNT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE DEFICIENCY IN CONNECTION WITH THE LAPORTE AVENUE PROJECT WHEREAS, An emergency and unforeseen contingency has arisen whereby it has become necessary to raise the sum of $1 ,302 97 , to pay the deficiency in connection with the cost of the LaPorte Avenue Project and the public necessity r requires an additional appropriation of public funds therefor, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1. That there be and is hereby appro- priated out of the general revenues of the City of Fort Col- lins for the year 1941 and subsequent years, unless taken up prior thereto, an amount not exceeding $ 1 ,302 97 to be used for paying the deficiency in connection with the cost of the LaPorte Avenue Project, which said sum shall be credited on the books of the City Clerk and City Treasurer to LaPorte Avenue Emergency Project Fund, and registered warrants bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed three per cent per annum, as may be fixed by the City Treasurer, shall be issued by the City to cover said amount Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter L_ Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meeting of the City Council, held this 26th day of December, A D 1941 Mayor Attest City Clerk -2- STATE OF COLORADO, ) ss County of Larimer ) I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of two (2 ) Sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 26th day of December, A D 1941, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Larimer County Coloradoan, a weekly newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unan- imous vote of all members of the City Council, as an Emer- gency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7, Article IV of the City Charter, and there- after and on to-wit the 1st day of LJanuary, A D 194-2, said Ordinance No. 10 was duly published in the Larimer County Coloradoan, a weekly newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 1st day of �Janu. ary„ A D 1942 tee_"" City Clerk
