HomeMy WebLinkAbout014 - 05/26/1923 - AMENDING SECTION 585 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO PUBLIC HEALTH, AND PROHIBITING THE BREEDING OF CAT ORDINANCE NO � , 1923, BEING AN DEPCEITCY ORDINANCE MENDIAM SECTION 585 OF THE FORT COLLINS CODE RELATING TO PUBLIC H11ALTH, AND PROHIBITIITG THE BREEDING OF CATTLE AND hOPSES ltiTTuIN THE CORPORATE LITIITS OF THE CITY OF FOPT COLLINS, AND PROVIDING A MALTY FOR-VIOLATION THEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY TIM CITY COUTTCIL OF TdE CITY OF FORT COLT_INS Section 1 That Section 585 of the Fort Collins Code, being a part of Chapter 41 on Public Health, be and the same 19 hereby amended so as to read as follows "It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to keep any cattle, horses, or other animals in any pens, sheds or yards within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, without providing for the removal promptly of all manure, filth, rubbish and foul material that may accumulate therein which shall becore deleterious and injurious to the public health, and shall at all tires be required to keep such yards, pens and sheds in a cleanly condition pursuant to the requirements of the ordinances and regulations of the City Board of Health " Section 2 It shall be unlawful for any person or persons keeping cattle or horses in any sheds, pens or yards within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, to carry on the breeding of such animals while so confined within such sheds, pens or yards wither the corporate limits of the City Section 3 Any person or persons who shall violate the provisions of th-s ordinance or any, of the regulations or orders of the City Botird of Health made pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 41 of the Fort Collins Code concerning public health, shall upon conviction be fined in any sun ao not less than $��: nor more than $100 On and costs of suit Section 4 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and tnis ti ,S, ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, under and by vkktue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the City Council this day of May, A D 1923 i C issioner of Safety aaid ExOfficio Mayor ATTEST Citv Clerk STATE OF COLORADO ) ) SS COUNTY OF LARIMER ) I, A J ROSENOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing ordinance, consisting of four (4) sections, ms duly proposed and resad at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the'2Mi day of May, A D 1923, and was duly adopted and ordered purlished in the Fort Collins Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all the mbmbers of the City Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter, and o to wit the � day of flay, A D 1923, said Ordinance No —L was duly ou'lished in the Fort Collins Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN VITNESS ITIiPEREOF a0I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal 6f sPid City, tris jyi day of _ , A D 1923 City Clerk
