HomeMy WebLinkAbout002A - 06/12/1931 - AMENDING SECTIONS 190 TO 200 OF PART 23 OF ORDINANCE NO. 030, 1924, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BUILDING C ORDINANCE NO 2 , 19312 BEING AN M1ERGENCY ORDINANCE, AMENDING SECTIONS 190 TO 200 OF PART 23 OF ORDINANCE NO 30 OF THE SERIES OF 1924, BEING AN ORDINANCE COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section ]. That Section 191 of Ordinance No 30 of the Series of 1924 shall be made to read as follows "All electric or illuminated signs overhanging the sidewalk shall be at least twelve (12 ) feet above the walk and shall have at least two (2) individual steel attachments to such building or pole, that all such signs shall be made of materials that are water proof and so constructed that they will not endanger the water proof qualities here required, Provided, that with respect to electric or illuminated signs of greater size or weight than provided in Section 194 of said Ordinance No. 30 of the Series of 1924, a special revocable permit may be issued by the City Council for the erection thereof upon the recommendation of the Builaing Inspector and Commissioner of Works, under such terms and conditions as safety and good con- struction may require, and nothing in the terms and provisions of this Ordinance or any Ordinance of the City of Fort Collins affecting the same, shall control in the granting of such special permit, but the entire matter shall rest in the sound discretion of the City Council of the City of Fort Collins, respecting the location, construction and maintenance thereof " Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. -1- Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication, under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting held this lzth day of June, A D 1931 Commissioner of Safety and Ex-Officio ATTEST Mayor %Q" City Clerk r STATE OF COLORADO ) ss County of Larimer ) I, A J ROSERTOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the fore- going ordinance, consisting of three (3) sections , was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 12th day of June, A D 1931, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter, on to-wit the 16tt, day of June, A D 1931, said Ordinance No. 2 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand and affixed the seal of said City this 16th day of June, A D 1931.
