HomeMy WebLinkAbout001 - 03/20/1936 - AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF 6% REGISTERED WARRANTS NOT TO EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $6500 TO PURCHA y ORDINANCE NO 1 1936 BEIPIG AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF 6 % REGISTERED W4.RRANTS NOT TO EXCEED THE TOT4L AMOUNT OF $6500 00 TO PURCHASE A BITUMINOUS MATERIAL DISTRIBUTOR FROM MUNICIPAL SUPPLY COMPANY WHEREAS , since the adoption of the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1936 , an emergency and unforeseen contingency has arisen, whereby it has oecome and is necessary to expend not to exceed the sum of Sixty-five Hundred ($6500 00) Dollars on account of the cost of acquiring a bituminous material distributor from Municipal Supply Company of South Bend Indiana , the same to be used in connection with the street oiling projects , being Consolidated Improvement Districts Nos 40 and 41 , so that funds granted through the United States under the P W A may be avai;able for the said improvement work THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there be and hereby is appropriated out of the general revenues of the City of Fort Collins for the year 1936 and subsequent years or from such other source or sources as may hereafter be directed by the City Council unless taken up prior thereto the sum of Sixty- five Hundred ($6500 00) Dollars on account of expense of acquiring a bituminous material distributor from Municipal Suuply Company of South Bend Indiana and registerea 6% warrants of the City shall be issuea to cover the amount required therefor, not to exceed the sum of Sixty-five Hundred ($6500 00) Dollars , the denomination of said warrants +o oe as directed by the Comsissioner of Finance , which said -1- sum, when this ordinance shall take effect shall be credited on the books of the City Clerk and City Treasurer respectively to Special Oiling Equipment Fund Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health peace and safety ana this Ordinance shall take effect upon i+s passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council , at a regular meeting of the City Council , held the 20th day of Marcb , A D 1936 Mayor Attest Acting City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO-, ) ) ss County of Larimer ) I , JESSIE ROBERTS Acting City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance consisting of two (2) Sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th day of March A D 1936, and was duly adopted and ordered publisned in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter and on to grit the 24th day of March, A D 1936, said Ordinance No 1 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 24th day of Dlarch, A D 1936 ng City Clerk
