BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23 OF ORDINANCE
NO 11, 19171 the samb being General Section 223 of Chapter 20
OF ARTICLE I OF THE FORT COLLINS CODE RELATING TO FOOD, AND
ORDINANCE NO 35 , 1922
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Section 23 of Ordinance No
119 1917 , and Section 1 of Ordinance No 35, 1922 be amended
so as to read as follows
"Section 23 (a) No meat , fish or other article
of food or drink shall knowingly be bought , sold, held or
o-ffered for sale , labeled- or any representation made in respect
thereto under a false name or quality, or any false representa-
tion whatever respecting its wholesomeness for food or drink
No bread shall be offered for sale unless the same shall be
wrapped with paraffine paper and all bakers' goods and con-
fectionery in the stores or while being delivered within the
corporate limits of the City, shall be protected from dust ,
flies , handling and atmospheric contamination by being wrapped
in sanitary paraffine or cellophane paper, or kept in tight boxes
or in glass cases
(b) No foods , fruits , vegetables
or other edible food stuffs shall be placed or displayed in
front of ary building or in the approach thereto , or in the
doorways thereof , unless the same shall be contained in glass
or cellophane covered cases or enclosed as to protect the same
from dust , flies , handling and atmospheric contamination n
Section 2 All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed

Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council
an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health
peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage and publication, under and by virtue of the authority
contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter
Introduced, read at length and adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council , at a regular
meeting held this 1st day of May, A D 1936

of Fort Collins , do hereby certify and declare that the fore-
going Ordinance , consisting of three (3) sections , was duly
proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City
Council, held on the lst day of May, A D 1936 , and was duly
adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-
Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the
City of Fort Collins , by the unanimous vote of all members of
the City Council as an emergency ordinance , in accordance with
the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City
Charter , and thereafter and on to-wit the 5th day of May,
A D 1936 , said Ordinance No 9 was duly published in The
Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in
the City of Fort Collins , Colorado
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 5th day of May,
