BEII\1G AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO SIGNS, AVNINGS AND THE
DISPLAY OF MERCHAtiTDISE OVER OR UPON SIDEWALKS AND STREETS AND
AMENDING BUILDING CODE AS ADOPTED DECEMBER 13 , 1924 AM) AMEND-
MENTS TgERETO , AND ORDINANCE NO 4 , 1931
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That the Building Code of the City
of Fort Collins as adopted December 13, 1924 and amendments
thereto , ana Ordinance No 4, 1931 adopted October 9 , 1931, be
amended by aading thereto the following
"No person shall in this City set up or cause
to be set up , erect or maintain any sign, sign box, case ,
light fixture or other object that extends over or upon any
sidewalk and attached to the outside wall of any portion of
the building, unless the same shall be securely fastened as
in this ordinance provided, ana the lowest portion of which
shall be not less than six and one-half (62) feet from the
sidewalk and shall not extend more than eighteen ( 18) inches
from said outside wall or the inside line of any sidewalk, and
all of said signs shall be approved by the Building Inspector
No person shall in this City set up or cause
to be set up erect or maintain any sign sign box, case ,
light fixture or other object upon any sidewalk or street '
Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council
an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health,
peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage and publication, under and by virtue of the authority
contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter
Introduced, read at length and adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a regular
meeting held this 15th day of May, A D 1936

of Fort Collins , ao hereby certify ana declare that the fore-
going Ordinance , consisting of two ( 2) sections , was duly pro-
posed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council ,
held on the 15th daf of May A D 1936 , and was duly adopted and
ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily
newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins ,
by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council as an
emergency ordinance , in accordance with the provisions of Sections
6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter , and thereafter and on
to-wit the 19th day of May, A D 1936 , said Ordinance No 10
was duly published in The Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily
newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado
IN WITNESS HEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 19th day of May,
