HomeMy WebLinkAbout021 - 12/13/1956 - RELATING TO THE USE OF THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SERVICE, FIXING THE SCHEDULE OF CHARGES THEREFOR ORDINANCE NO, 21 1956 RELATING TO THE USE OF THE_iftHPAL SANITARY SDNER SERVICE, FIXING THE SCHEDULE OF CHARGES THEREFOR AND PROVIDING FOR RATES, CHARGES, RULES AND REGULATIONS THEREFOR. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1. For the uses specified in this ordinance, an application must be made to the City Engineer for a permit. Such permit shall set forth the name of the person for whose benefit such permit shall be granted, the size of the tap, the place at which the service connection is to be made and all other infor- mation necessary for a clear, concise record. These facts shall be made a matter of permanent record in the office of the City Engineer. Section 2. For each new connection, inside and outside the city limits, there shall be paid for the above mentioned permit, a fee of $5.00 and a trunk line assessment at the office of the City Clerk. Said trunk line assessment shall be a sum equal to one-half (D cent for each square foot of the lot area for which service is required, provided, however, that the minimum trunk line assessment for connection outside the city limits shall be $150,00, and provided further that no trunk line assessment shall be charged for connections where a previous trunk line assessment has been charged for and paid. Each consumer obtaining a permit shall further pay to the City Clerk a sum equal to the cost of all labor and material necessary for making the tap connection. Each connection shall be made under the supervision of the Department Municipal of/Public Utilities. Section 3. The sanitary sewer services supplied by the City of Fort Collins and used within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins must be paid for in accordance with the following schedule of rates and charges, the consumer shall be billed in accordance therewith, to-wit* 1 Bath and 1 toilet $10 00 Toilet only 6 00 Each additional toilet or bath (Toilets shall include urinals, and baths shall Include shower baths) 150 Large laundries 35 00 Small laundries and cleaners 20,00 Car washing racks 20,00 Restaurants, Cafes and Lunchrooms Class "A" (seating capacity for 40 or more patrons) 25 00 Class "B" (seatin capacity for 25 to �O patrons) 20 00 Class "C" (seating capacity for less than 25 patrons) 15 00 Beer Parlors 20,00 Sewer connections only inside city limits 3 00 Said rates and charges shall be collected in quarterly installments, and in all cases where the water rent is a flat rate, said installments shall be due and collected at the time the flat water rate is collected and as a part of the same charge, and in the case of metered water, the same shall be collected on meter bills due and payable the first day of February, April, August, and November, and no one shall be permitted to use water until and unless said water rates and sewer charges are paid. Effective date The foregoing rates shall be effective forthwith Section 4 No permits or contracts shall be entered into by the City of Fort Collins for the furnishing of sanitary sewer services connecting with the Fort Collins sanitary sewer system to new consumers outside the city limits of the City of Fort Collins and no additional taps shall be permitted to be made to existing lines, except as the City Council shall expressly provide for by resolution hereafter adopted Section 5 There shall be paid to the City of Fort Collins for each sewer connection outside the city limits, per single family dwelling, an annual charge of $24 00 per year Said charge shall be billed to the consumer quarterly and included on the water bill submitted to the consumer. For any other use furnished to outside users of the sanitary sewer system, rates shall be established by the resolution permitting said service. Section 6, Ordinance No. 11, 1947, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Municipal Section 7. The head of the Department of/Public Utilities shall be responsible for the enforcement of all rules, regulations and rates and make final decisions relative thereto, subject to delegation of powers to selected assistants appointed by approval of the City Manager.
